- Oversee and manage a portfolio of complex, multi-stakeholder EU-funded projects and service contracts with a focus on high-quality performance and compliance (incl. coordination of activities and tasks of project partners, monitoring of budgets, deliverable preparation, project reporting, etc).
- Line manage, coordinate and guide staff members within that portfolio of projects and service contracts, including capacity management, performance appraisal and team development.
- Position SUBMARINER/s.Pro strategically with regard to our different programmes within the field of blue innovations, capacity building and governance especially, but not exclusively under the EU Mission Ocean, EIT Water and DG MARE service contracts.
- Lead strategic stakeholder engagement activities within and beyond projects, including government agencies, industry partners, research and non-governmental organizations, to advance our impact across the Baltic and North Sea region and beyond.
- Author policy briefs, position papers, topical expert reports, and project deliverables.
- Represent the SUBMARINER Network/ s.Pro at workshops, conferences and events, including workshop facilitation and public speaking.
- Scout new project acquisition opportunities to advance our strategic objectives, including consortium building, strategic design thinking and proposal writing.

Your profile
- Relevant university degree at Master’s level, for example in an environmental / biomarine or social science discipline.
- At least 7 years proven work experience in EU funding and policy and/or relevant industry sectors.
- Proven experience in project/service acquisition at coordinator level, and proposal writing for EU projects.
- Several years of experience in managing people and leading teams.
- A strong network in the blue economy / sustainability field, and with EU institutions or other relevant stakeholders, is a distinct advantage.
- Experience and or proven interest in the field of sustainability, environmental or marine topics (blue economy, blue skills and innovation, aquaculture, marine spatial planning or similar).
- Evidence-based research and science-to-policy translation skills and the ability to produce high-quality reports, briefs and policy recommendations.
- Skilled communicator with a proven ability to engage partners and donors diplomatically. Experienced in delivering impactful presentations to large audiences and facilitating workshops.
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Proficiency in German and/or other languages of the Baltic Sea region is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, SharePoint and other collaboration tools.
- Based in Berlin or willingness to relocate.
- Able to travel occasionally in Europe to co-host or participate in events.
